Lead Software Engineer
Genesee Survey Services, Inc. is looking to add a Lead Software Engineer to their staff. This engineer would be responsible for leading the architecture and development of cutting-edge applications that use the Microsoft.NET technology stack, based on the requirements and project plan designed in collaboration with other employees. The idea candidate would:

  • Have five years experience in the software development industry. Two of those years should be specifically in developing with the Microsoft.NET stack. One of those years should be specifically spent in architecting applications based on project requirements. ASP.NET experience is definitely a plus here, as is experience in AJAX.
  • Have a knowledge of industry best practices in regards to software architecture, design and construction.
  • Have a willingness to learn the business domain that Genesee Survey Services operates within.
  • Be able to interact with people who aren’t developers.
  • Have a willingness to accept that development is more than just heads-down coding.

Have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in a development related field of study from an accredited institution.

Support Programmer
We are currently interviewing talented programmers for the support of survey and reporting projects. The position will involve the maintenance of existing code bases using C#, ASPX, ASP, VB, VB script, Javascript. The ideal candidate should be team oriented, able to work in a dynamic environment, proactive & a quick learner.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Support project managers in day-to-day data manipulation activities.
  • Maintain and test software modules in ASP and VB
  • Maintain and test software modules in ASPX and C#
  • Work as part of a client services team that does what it takes to ensure success.
Qualifications and Experience
Associates or B.S. degree in EE/CE/CS with a minimum of 2-4 years experience in a business environment with experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Program experience with C#, ASPX, ASP, HTML, VB, VB script and Javascript
  • Experience manipulating data within MS Access and MS Excel documents.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, diverse development environment.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
  • Ability to learn and support new systems and applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Experience with Visual Basic, MS SQL 2000, .NET, COM+, and SPSS a plus.
