Genesee presented at SIOP’s 22nd Annual Conference in April 2007

We are pleased to announce that Sarah Johnson presented “Get to the Point! Presenting Survey Research Data for Maximum Impact” at a pre-conference workshop at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) conference on Thursday, April 26. This and other pre-conference workshops were designed to provide information and insights on the most pressing issues affecting the IO Psychology discipline.

Sarah also chaired a panel discussion between notable survey leaders titled “More Survey Ponderables...Questions and Answers on Effective Employee Surveys” at SIOP. The Panel, including Genesee’s Vice President of Strategy, Research and Development, Larry Eldridge, discussed seven research inquiries inspired by practitioner experiences and their implications for employee survey design. This was the third year running that a “Survey Ponderables...” session has been included on the agenda at SIOP. One of the SIOP topic reviewers commented “This is a strong cast of characters and a topic that will never die from lack of interest. There should be a place on the program for something similar to this every year.”

In addition, Larry Eldridge made a presentation as part of the practice forum entitled “The Promise and Peril of Employee Engagement.” Within our field, the term Engagement has been applied to many different concepts. In this presentation, Larry explored several of the definitions, integrated them using a cognitive-emotional model of human behavior and shared the results some early empirical tests. This session promised to provide some wide ranging and interesting views of a current hot topic.
