Executing a Large Complex Survey Project

Genesee worked in partnership with a large, Fortune 100 corporation to help successfully execute its census survey. Major achievements of that project include:

  • Development of their Employer of Choice Survey, building on corporate definitions and specific goals. Included several items that were matched to Genesee's National Work Opinion Survey norms (external benchmark).

  • Created custom planning guides for team members, communication plans, web-site downloads for administrators and managers to get key documents, administration kits for each location, and an ongoing audit of both paper and web responses.

  • Managed a changing organization structure database during administration and report production to assure more current structure reflected in final reports.

  • Distributed 300,000 paper surveys to over 1,400 locations on time, and provided web-based administration to other specified employees. Surveys were provided in English, French-Canadian, and Spanish.

  • Processed over 216,000 responses (81% response rate).

  • Created over 1,800 reports in paper, PDF, and web (GenView) formats within a 10-day turnaround from the close of the survey.

  • Distributed reports to all locations. Reports were archived on CDs by Division (both survey results and comments).

  • Transcribed over 145,000 comments and produced comment reports.

  • Provided advanced statistical analyses including linkage studies to turnover and financial performance. Models were also created showing drivers of commitment and inclusive culture.

  • Presented results to executive leadership and provided interpretation training to project support coordinators.
